Delivery Questions

Questions, worries, concerns, existential dread... all will be allayed by these delivery answers.

In response to the Coronavirus we’ve put several measures in place to protect the safety of our staff and customers.
Warehouse staff
All our warehouse staff are being daily monitored for fever and/or illness at home and will be self isolated if they show any signs of either, in accordance with government guidelines. All staff also use a fresh pair of disposable gloves on every shift, so that the flowers and packaging are untouched by human hands.
Delivery drivers & cyclists
Our drivers and bike riders are also being monitored for illness, as above. However we now operate a no-contact delivery service; a friendly knock on the door is usually what we like to do to announce your flower delivery, but to be on the safe side we’ll pop a card through your door and leave your flowers on the doorstep for now (they’re very, very fresh so they’ll be absolutely fine there all day if needs be).
Head office
Our office staff are being monitored for illness as above, and are currently working from home in accordance with government recommendations. But everything is operating normally and our fantastic customer service team will continue to be on hand to help with any queries you might have.

Of course! Just sign up with one address as normal, and then you can add more addresses to deliver to from the Delivery Addresses’ page.

When you sign up you’ll be asked to tell us where we should leave them if you’re not in. This can be as complicated as it needs to be and very few people experience problems with their boxes going missing. We regularly deliver to apartment blocks, houses without front gardens, flats on main roads… they’re almost certainly going to be fine!

Not at all – most people aren’t because our lovely delivery-people are up at highly uncivilised hours of the morning and we don’t want to wake anyone up! When you sign up we’ll ask you where you’d like them to be left if it’s too early or you’re not in. Your flowers will be quite happy waiting in their box for you to get up or get back home.

Our lovely delivery-people are out delivering from about 4am until about 5pm, and due to the vagaries of traffic and other variables it means we aren’t able to guarantee delivery times. It’s not a problem, though as you won’t need to be in when we deliver! We’ll leave your flowers all snug and secure in their box in your designated safe place ready for you to pick them up at your leisure!

In some parts of the UK our flowers are delivered by DPD. They are out delivering between 9am and 9pm and you’ll receive a text message in advance giving you a two hour time slot. Again, you won’t need to be in when they deliver.

To keep our emissions and flower miles down, we deliver to different areas on set days, planning our routes as efficiently as we can. If you’re not going to be in on that day then don’t panic! Your flowers will be quite happy in your designated safe place waiting for you to pick them up at your leisure.

Certainly. Your online account page has a Delivery Schedule which will let you book in holidays and skip deliveries on a whim. You’ll just need to give us a few days notice.

Of course! You can easily adjust the number of boxes delivered each week using your online account and even get an extra box delivered one week as a one-off should you be planning a fancy dinner party or something!

Most people like their flowers delivered weekly as it means they’ve always got super fresh flowers and they don’t miss out on anything. However, with the delivery schedule on your online account page, you can get deliveries as rarely or as frequently as you like. It’s totally flexible!

Yep, it’s not a subscription – you’re not locked in to anything. Cancel whenever you like!

We can usually collect your old boxes and reuse them if you leave them out the night before your delivery day. It’s really the best option for the planet – sometimes we can reuse a box up to eight times before it gets too tatty! If not, just break them down and pop them in the recyc.
Some of our more creative members have also transformed them into seed trays, hamster mazes and even pretend rocket ships for the kids! The only limit is your imagination!

We make our routes as efficient as possible to keep our flower miles down, which means we won’t be able to guarantee (or change) your delivery times. However, you don’t need to be in when we deliver as your flowers will be perfectly fine waiting in your designated safe place ready for you to pick them up at your leisure.

Our drivers are up and about delivering very early in the morning, so we’d much prefer to leave your box in a designated safe space rather than wake you up! It also means you don’t need to be in when we deliver.

Your flowers will be absolutely fine snug and secure in their box waiting for you to pick them at your leisure.

Absolutely – if you’re currently receiving a regular delivery from Freddie’s Flowers then you can send one-off gift boxes complete with personalised notes, or a set number of regular deliveries to anyone you feel deserves it! Just head to the Send a Gift page!

We’re actually on a bit of a enviro-kick at the moment! We’re busy expanding the number of deliveries we make by bicycle, and converting all of our vans to electric. We’re also almost entirely plastic free (growers sometimes put a plastic net on the more delicate flowers to protect them during transit – if you have any solutions do get in touch!) and all of our packaging is easily recyclable. We’ve also got the lovely Will – an expert in turning businesses carbon neutral – on the case. We’re already pretty green, but there’s so much more we can do!

Why yes, yes you can. You might even be able to go one further, depending on where you live – simply leave them out the night before and we’ll collect and reuse them. What a dream!

Occasionally. Sometimes the more delicate flowers need a little plastic net wrapped around their heads to stop them getting damaged in transit. It’s pretty tricky to get rid of because we’re not the ones putting them on – they come from the grower like that. So there’s not really much point in taking them off partway through their journey. We’re trying to work out an alternative at the moment – please do get in touch if you have any ideas or know someone who can help!

We’ll deliver your flowers either by bicycle or by van. The lovely Alice here at Freddie’s is busy trying to save the world by making our bicycle deliveries available across the country. What a hero!

We deliver to almost any building across the mainland UK, be it a house, flat, an office, pub, mosque, houseboat, shop, hotel, library… you name it. Unfortunately this doesn’t include the International Space Station. We’re not sure a water-filled vase of flowers would be a sensible decorative element in zero G…

They will be absolutely fine. Some of the more dainty stems might look a little tired, but they’re just thirsty! Pop them in some water and they’ll perk up beautifully – they’re surprisingly hardy little things!

They’re not, no. Carting all that water around is an absolute nightmare for the environment and, because our flowers are so ridiculously fresh we find we don’t need to! Just make sure you offer them a drink when you bring them in – they might be a little thirsty!
