Whenever you provide us with personal information it is our legal duty to use it in line with all laws concerning the protection of personal information, including the GDPR and applicable data protection legislation. Our lawful bases for processing include: by contract (when you subscribe to our services) and in compliance with a legal obligation or legitimate interests (except where your rights, freedoms and interests are overridden).
It is possible to view our site without providing any personal details. However, without registering your details you will not be able to order from us.
We may collect the following data about you. And we’ll only collect information where it is specifically and knowingly provided by you. Below shows what we’re collecting and the lawful basis for doing so.
Your name, email address & postal address will be used for the following:
- So we can process the orders you place with us on the site, send you email confirmations, take payment and deliver your boxes of flowers – This is under a contractual basis.
- We’ll also keep you in the loop of new things we’re doing and special offers we’re running, by post, email, phone or SMS. This is under legitimate interest.
- We’ll also use this information to reply to queries you may have. This is also under a contractual basis.
- Every so often, we may ask you for feedback via a survey to make our service as best as it can be for you. This is under legitimate interests.
Whilst we use carefully selected parties to help us to manage your details, we will never share or sell your personal information for their marketing purposes without your permission. These parties include IT, marketing and delivery service providers and we assess their compliance to best practice data processes regularly. Some organisations which provide services to us may transfer data outside of the European Union (EU) but we’ll only allow this if your data is adequately protected.
We are registered under the GDPR and applicable data protection legislation and comply with the Act in our dealings with your personal data. The Act protects your personal data by providing, amongst other things, that the data we hold about you should be processed lawfully and fairly. It should be accurate, relevant and not excessive. The information should, where necessary, be kept up to date and not retained for longer than is necessary. It should be kept securely to prevent unauthorised access by other people. You have the right to see what is held about you and correct any inaccuracies.
If you provide your consent by opting in to hear about promos and products via the post from third party brands, we will share your postal address with Epsilon Abacus (registered as Epsilon International UK Ltd), the company that manages the Abacus Alliance on behalf of UK retailers, and you may receive mail from other brands in the Abacus Alliance. The participating retailers are active in the following product categories: clothing, collectables, food & wine, gardening, gadgets & entertainment, health & beauty, household goods, and home interiors. They share information on what their customers buy. Epsilon Abacus analyses this pooled information to help retailers understand consumers’ wider buying patterns. From this information, retailers can tailor their communications, sending people suitable offers that should be of interest to them, based on what they like to buy.
Should we sell or transfer any of our business assets, this may include a sale or transfer of our customer databases to third parties as part of a business sale. This may mean that your Personal Data may be transferred to countries outside the EEA. Any such sale or transfer of Personal Data will be under strict conditions of confidentiality and security.
Please note that Epsilon Abacus may transfer data outside the EEA. The transfer will take place in the presence of appropriate safeguards, including standard data protection clauses adopted by the EU Commission. If you would like more information, please email us at email@example.com
At any point you are able to change your data preferences and our Customer Care team would be happy to help you with that.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files which a website may put on your computer or mobile device when you first visit a site or page. The cookie will help the website, or another website, to recognise your device the next time you visit. We use the term “cookies” in this policy to refer to all files that collect information in this way (including pixels summarised below).
There are many functions cookies serve. For example, they can help us to remember your username and preferences, analyse how well the website is performing, or even allow us to recommend content we believe will be most relevant to you.
Certain cookies contain personal information – for example, if you click to “remember me” when logging in, a cookie will store your user identifier. Most cookies will not collect information that identifies you, but will instead collect more general information such as how users arrive at and use the website.
What is a pixel?
Tracking pixels are transparent graphic images (sometimes called web beacons or tracking beacons) that are placed on certain pages of our website. A tracking pixel collects certain electronic information from your webpage’s header, such as your IP address or browser and your location, which may be forwarded to an advertising platform for the purpose of providing advertising to you that is based on your personal interests. We also use tracking pixels provided by certain tools to allow us to see how you interact with our email marketing or website e.g. to determine whether a recipient opened the email or accessed a certain link.
More information about pixels/web beacons is available at http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/W/Web_beacon.html
The Cookies we use
Freddie’s Flowers may use the following categories of cookies:
These are cookies that are required for the operation of our websites or provide services explicitly requested by you. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to log into secure areas of our websites or apps.

They allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around our websites when they are using it. This can help us improve the service or create and analyse content tests to allow us to optimise the experience for future users.
These are used to recognise you when you return to our website. This enables us to personalise our content for you and remember your preferences (for example, your choice of language or region).
Targeting cookies/tracking pixels
These record your visit to our website, the pages you have visited and the links you have followed. We will use this information to make our website and the advertising displayed to you more relevant to your interests. We may also share this information with third parties for this purpose.
We may combine the information we collect through cookies and pixel tags with other information we have collected from you, based on our legitimate interest, as this information may be used to improve our website, personalize your online experience, tailor our communications with you, determine the effectiveness of our advertising, and for other internal business purposes.
